But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Worship and Word

Traditional Lutheran and Blended Services

Sunday Devine Services 8:30 am

Our Savior Lutheran Church 8:30 am services with communion typically follows a structured format with traditional hymns. The service begins with hymns and prayers, followed by the recitation of the Nicene Creed, a statement of Christian faith. After the Creed, there is a scripture reading and a sermon. Then, the congregation partakes in the Holy Communion, where bread and wine (or grape juice) are consecrated and share the body and blood of Christ. This sacred act is often central to Lutheran worship and serves as a powerful reminder of Christ's sacrifice and the unity of the congregation in faith. The service typically concludes with final hymns, a benediction, and a sense of spiritual communion and connection with God and fellow worshippers.

About Communion at Our savior Lutheran Church

Holy Communion is a gift from God. It is the Lord’s Table to which He invites us. As we prepare to receive the Sacrament, we might ask ourselves the following questions: Do I realize that I am a sinful human being? Do I understand that our Lord gave His life, His body and blood, for me on the cross that I might be forgiven of my sins and in His resurrection raised me to a new life? Do I realize that in the Lord’s Supper He gives me His true body and blood that I might be assured of forgiveness and that my faith is strengthened that I might serve my Lord and through Him serve others? If you are a baptized Christian and share these Biblical truths, please join us in the celebration of the Sacrament. If you have not yet been baptized or received instruction, please come forward for a blessing, crossing your arms over your chest to indicate you are not receiving the elements.

Bible Study Sunday 9:15 am

An adult Bible class, led by various teachers, focuses on the Reformation's core principles. Discussions emphasize:
1. Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone):** The Bible as the ultimate source of Christian faith and practice.
2. Sola Gratia (Grace Alone):** Salvation through God's grace, not human merit.
3. Sola Fide (Faith Alone):** The significance of faith in Christ for salvation.
4. Solus Christus (Christ Alone):** Christ-centered teachings that put Jesus at the core of Christian faith.
The class explores how authentic Christian beliefs must align with these principles, connecting them to a Christocentric approach, where salvation flows entirely from Christ's grace and our faith. The Bible remains central as the authentic revelation of Jesus. This class encourages deep understanding of the faith's foundation in Christ, grace, faith, and Scripture, relating these concepts to everyday life.
